Nick Scotney has been doing theatre costume and wardrobe work for over a decade on both children’s and mainstage shows. During this he has also worked in puppet and prop construction as well as set design/construction. Nick has also worked as character performer and puppeteer and more recently took on his first time directing a stage production.
Biography
Nick Scotney has worked at Brisbane Arts Theatre for over 8 years, mainly in Costume design and Wardrobe department. He has designed costumes and puppets for many of their shows over the years and more recently designing sets for both children’s and mainstage shows.
Outside of Brisbane Arts Theatre he has worked in Costume and Wardrobe for other productions including Singing in the Rain (QPAC), The Producers (Powerhouse), Once on this Island (LaBoite) and wardrobe assist/dresser on the film Zombie Plane (Screen Qld).
He has directed smaller performances for Caberet, gala night balls and roving character events. This year saw him step into the role of Theatre Director for his first time with Brisbane Arts' Frankenstein, which he also portrayed the role of The Creature.
As a performer Nick has done puppeteering and character/creature work on varied range of productions and events.
This is his first time working with Ad Astra and very excited to be a part of the production
