Reviews
‘John Stibbard plays Alex before his stroke … capturing the vulnerability and tragedy of the character’s condition.’

‘It’s more than likely that John Stibbard was born to play Jonathon Brewster. His tall and thin frame, shoulder-length hair, spidery hands and creepy voice suit the character superbly. His posture and stance on stage develop the character further, along with the realistic and horrible make-up which was designed and applied by John himself.’

‘John Stibbard gave a thought-provoking characterization in his portrayal. He showed the challenges an alcoholic faces, ranging from the depths of despair and frustration, loss of hope and direction, as well as the challenges an alcoholic would go through if they become sober.’

‘As the imposing and intimidating Mr. Paravicini, John Stibbard stole the show. His performance was masterful, and every look, gesture, and significant pause was polished, practiced, and precise. The image of him reclining languorously on the couch in his plum-coloured suit twirling his glasses and cackling is one that will stay with the audience. A huge amount of the tension of the play arose from Stibbard’s characterisations, and his wolfish energy and menace were on point at every turn.’
