Since deciding to pursue acting in 2021, Carla Haynes has appeared in numerous television series, short films, and commercials. She is a core performer and teacher with Improv Queensland, with whom she has performed around Australia and overseas. Carla is delighted to be making her Ad Astra debut.

Biography

Carla Haynes was about to embark on a psychology PhD in 2021 when she decided to change course and follow her passion for acting instead. She has since appeared in television series (In Our Blood), web series (It’s a Cult!), short films (Child of Mine, The Box), and numerous commercials, as well as several feature films, television series, and short films currently in production. Highlights in her training include studying the Uta Hagen technique with Peter Rasmussen and receiving extensive training in the art of improvisation. She is a core performer and teacher with Improv Queensland, with whom she has performed for over six years around Australia and New Zealand in shows such as Heartfelt High and Murder at the Bowlo. Carla comes from a family of musicians and originally trained at the Queensland Conservatorium, obtaining a Bachelor of Music in jazz voice. She is still a keen singer and pianist. Carla is absolutely delighted to be making her Ad Astra debut in Love Lies Bleeding.
