Reviews
“As the young brothers, Jayden McGinlay and Kieran McGinlay are perfectly cast as Hank and Charlie.
Despite the depressing hospital setting, Jayden’s first scene as Hank lifts the energy of the play, and his performance is very moving as Hank slowly breaks through his angst-ridden wall to develop a relationship with his Aunt. ”

“Jayden and Kieran McGinlay play the roles of Hank and Charlie respectively. As Hank, Jayden plays this troubled teen with aggression and slyness. Effectively making Hank a character the audience can’t decide if they like. Jayden’s obvious acting training shines through in this role showing us the softer side of Hank when he is with Bessie and the tough Hank with his mother.”

“Jayden blew us away with his talent and was mature way beyond his years. He performed in the very successful QPAC season with great aplomb – totally professional in his work practice, and demonstrating terrific acting, dancing and singing skills, but, more than that, he had a warmth and easy unspoiled charm that was very special. The very experienced cast (including David Hobson and Rachel Beck) loved working with him. I predicted then, and still believe, that if he chooses to continue in the business he will become a major talent. He is motivated, delightful to work with and has considerable talent.” -
Roger Hodgman, Theatre and TV Drama Director; Artistic Director Melbourne Theatre Company
“McGinlay gave us a laconic and easy-going Ralph, happy to lead and to defend his people on his terms. A solid and carefully constructed piece of acting showed the torture within as Ralph struggles against his own nature, the work of an actor far beyond his years." -
