Tainika is an emerging Meanjin (Brisbane) based performer and mezzo-soprano.
Biography
Tai Kane-Potaka is a performer currently studying a Bachelor of Music (honours) in Classical Voice at UQ School of Music. Tai has a passion for music, furthering their vocal technique at Cuskelly College of Music. They also hone their craft in acting by training with Gareth Harris at Back Doc Arts. They have developed an interest in physical theatre and clowning after their recent clown performance Wait For It. They have performed with local theatre companies including Villanova players, Vena Cava, The Brisbane Arts Theatre, and Ghostlight Theatre. Tai has a love for multidisciplinary arts, particularly marrying her opera background and composing with performance art and physical theatre.

The entirety of the cast worked so well as a cohesive collective, it is difficult to describe their performances individually. Each were committed to their character, which had clearly been researched and developed into well-rounded and thought out personalities, and interacted with one another with the familiarity one would expect from members of a sports team. Each brought a powerful intensity, light and shade and above all, energy, to their performance. Each actor was faultless in their execution of dialogue and blocking contributing to the overall professionalism of the show.
Tainika Kane-Potaka brought a vivacious energy and spark to the group which prevented the play from becoming too heavy.
