Leonard Meenach
Biography
Since his graduation Leonard has acquired a professional background in acting, directing and teaching the Art of Acting.
His acting experience includes union roles in repertory companies and film, television and commercials. Leonard served as an acting coach for the Mali Finn Casting Agency and worked on films such as James Cameron’s “True Lies”. Leonard was an Assistant Professor at California State University – Fullerton for seven years where he taught acting in both BA and MFA programs. In addition to his teaching career, Leonard has continued to work and train with notables in the field including master acting teachers Ellen Burstyn, Arthur Lessac, Jose Quintero and Eric Morris.

Leonard has directed over fifteen shows in Brisbane while serving as the head acting teacher at Queensland University of Technology. Some of the plays he directed include “Summer and Smoke”, “Lion in the Streets”, “Streetcar Named Desire”, “St. Kilda tales”, “Terrain Terrain Terrain”, “The Jungle” and the highly successful “August: Osage County by Tracey Letts.
Training
He received his Master of Fine Arts in acting and directing from the University of Arizona in 1981.
He was certified in Arthur Lessac Training for the actor in 1992 and served as an adjudicator for the American College Theatre Festival from 1984 to 1996.
