Lachlan Engeler
Biography
Lachlan began his acting journey at an early age, starting his training at eight years old under the guidance of teachers at ‘Bright Stars’ in Brisbane. He spent majority of his younger years performing in school and community stage plays such as, “Treasure Island” (2016) and “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” (2019). Upon completing high school in 2019, Lachlan decided to jump into the screen industry, securing a couple of background gigs on multiple productions filming in Queensland. After two solid years in the big world, he decided that it would be an interesting development in his career to participate in a Bachelor of Fine Arts program. He leapt at the chance and decided to audition for the Acting program at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) securing a place and awarded a scholarship.

Reviews
TJ was brought to life by Lachlan Engeler, who balanced the character’s less likable attributes with some solid humour and an effective straight-man routine compared to those around him.

Lachlan Engeler played TJ with sullen emotionality, exasperated sarcasm, and simmering resentment; uncomfortable in his father’s shadow, but unwilling to forge a new path for himself beyond the safety net of the family business.

All performers do an excellent job in creation of such distinct and distinctive characters.

As Terry Schmidt Jr (or TJ), Lachlan Engeler is the sort of engaging performer needed for this central role. If we don’t like TJ and feel for his plight, then the story falls apart.

‘Lachlan Engeler, as Albert Rogers, was Veronica’s husband and ruled over her career with his self-perceived iron fist. Engeler was a standout in the show. In a role that could easily enable a performer to get carried away in loud outbursts of emotion, Engeler’s depiction of the character’s anger had notable depth.’
Ellie Waddingham – Theatre Haus/ Read Review
‘Lachlan Engeler as the terrifying, abusive husband, Albert Rogers, was spectacular. Lachlan is without a doubt the standout performer of this show. Lachlan’s acting is nuanced and layered with multiple, complex motivations that make Albert seem real. Bravo!’
