Rob Wainwright
Biography
After graduation, his UK theatre work included playing Mr Thompson in a West End production of Daisy Pulls It Off (at the Arts Theatre) and Crichton in The Admirable Crichton at London’s Curtains Up Theatre. Other UK theatre productions include Plague! The Musical (in both London and Edinburgh), The Children’s Hour, Dear Brutus, A Criminal Audition, Blood Wedding, The Wind Thing Musical, The Butterfly’s Evil Spell, Journey’s End and 12 Angry Men.
Robert’s UK screen roles include the RAAF Group Captain in World War II docudrama Shady Lady and Nick Manners in comedy feature film It’s All About The Manners. His other UK screen work includes featuring in an episode of BBC series The Young Apprentice and providing the voiceover in the international TV advert for The Watch Hut. In addition, Robert's directorial debut Headz was filmed in East London and screened at various international festivals, winning various awards including a Golden Lion at the 2016 London Film Awards.
In Australia, Robert won the 2017 award for best actor in a leading role at Brisbane’s 48 Hour Film Festival, for his role in the film Three Fishes. Most recently, he played a featured role in an episode of new US TV series Young Rock. Another recent role was Constable Daniels in the upcoming film Seven Times, a story about domestic violence that was filmed in the Lockyer Valley.
