Ophelia is a performance artist and writer based in Brisbane. They have been involved in the arts from a young age and enjoy the camaraderie of working on and off stage. Previously, they have written immersive physical theatre work Elementals (2019) and their play SPACE: The Flat Frontier, has shown at Pip Theatre for The Original Works Festival and The Anywhere in 2021 and 2023, respectively.

Biography

Ophelia is a performance artist and writer based in Brisbane. They have been involved in the arts in theatre, dance and cabaret from a young age and enjoy the camaraderie of working on and off stage. They have previously played Woman in PIP Theatre’s The Father (hARTSpace), Purity in The Female of the Species (Dark Stories), George in The Bed Party (Menacing Lavender x PIP Theatre) and Sam in Soul Sister Revue (Hummingbird Theatre Co.).

They have written immersive work Elementals (2019) and a play SPACE: The Flat Frontier, for The Original Works Festival and The Anywhere in 2021 and 2023, respectively. As a writer Ophelia is interested in community relationships, mental health and its impacts and with a MA Anthropology and Participatory Development from ANU and ten years working in community services, Ophelia is well positioned to explore these issues.
