Natasha McDonald
Biography
Natasha is a QUT Drama graduate (Bachelor of Creative Industries & Grad Dip Ed). She also graduated NIDA: Actors Studio residency, in Sydney, in 2018. Having recently returned to Brisbane, after studying, working & performing in Sydney for several years, Natasha continues to perform, direct and work in Arts Education in QLD.
Natasha has a long list of theatre credits, including several Brisbane productions. She thoroughly enjoyed a long residency as Linda Porter (A Swell Party), alongside the talented Steven Tandy as Cole Porter, and as a lead singer and dancer in a re-imagining of Cabaret (Stage Door dinner theatre, Twelfth Night & On the Boards Theatre company) for 2 years.
So far this year, Natasha has just completed a run at Nash Theatre - performing multiple roles in the Luxe Radio Play, The Thin Man, and starring as Princess Leia in the Shakespearean Star Wars spoof, Bard Wars at Brisbane Arts Theatre - to great reviews.
Natasha’s favourite Sydney Theatrical Productions include: Rausch (NIDA, Parade Theatres) Vincent Ergo (107 Projects), Pygmalion & The Lovely Bones (New theatre) and Persuasion (Genesian Theatre).
Natasha has also been working in the film and television industry for several years, most recently working with Taika Waititi on Thor: Love and Thunder, as an Asgardian Parent. In 2024, she is set to direct and star in the play Consensual, with her own production company, Loquacious Creatives. She is a long serving member of MEAA.
Reviews
"Natasha McDonald was equally as compelling in the roles of Isabella Bird, Joyce and Louise. Each of her characters were entirely different and she embodied each with dedication and aplomb. Her accents were equally as consistent as Roque’s and their scene together at the end of the play was unnervingly realistic. These two women were captivating to watch and easily stole the show. Their rapport with one another was comfortable yet tense (as familiar relationships often are) and both delivered complex, multi-layered and intriguing performances.”

Reviews
Natasha McDonald is a casting standout in characterisation of gangster girl secretary Julia Wolf, leaning right into the accompanying rough New York accent and persona. And her elevated realisation (in partner with Fletcher) of the already exaggerated quick word from the sponsor breaks for ‘the beauty soap of the stars’ add much to the authenticity of the night’s entertainment.

This was a free-flowing production on an open stage, as per Shakespeare’s time. In a generally a solid cast, standouts included eye catching performances from Eleni Koutsoukia as Artoo and Natasha McDonald as Princess Leia.
