Julia Cox
Biography
I have been incredibly lucky to have worn many hats in the world of theatre over the last decade. As an actor, I've had the opportunity to perform in musicals, comedy shows, darker more dramatic plays and variety shows. My love of storytelling extended into writing short plays and jukebox musicals for childrens theatre, building worlds and characters for children to enjoy. Furthermore, I've ventured into the director's chair, guiding actors and crews to bring my creative vision to life. This role has allowed me to merge my experiences as an actor and writer, ensuring a holistic approach to storytelling. Costume design is another avenue I have recently explored, costuming my first show through Ad Astra, the ability to explore characters and work with both the actors and the director to help bring a production to life for the audience. I cannot wait to continue to explore new horizons in the world of theatre, driven by a deep passion for the magic of storytelling in all its forms.

“Costumes designed by Julie Cox included rough edges, consistent with the troupe’s amateur standing, for the fourteenth century and created clear contrasts with the present-day clothing, including the detail of the Playwright’s ramen-stained “Brooklyn uniform”.

Reviews
“While all the other staff gave great performances and the inmates respectfully gave incredible showings, the show's highlight was Julia Cox as Billy. Cox was a relatable, loveable inmate who immediately got the audience's sympathy. Cox's commitment captivated me throughout. From little facial expressions to body language, Cox delivered an unforgettable performance.”
