Biography

Anthony Borsato is a Nambour-based writer, director, and producer. Anthony graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Honours First Class and a Master of Professional Practice (Performing Arts) from the University of the Sunshine Coast. Anthony is re-entering the Arts sector after spending the past several years caring for his ill mother. He is currently working on projects with his own company ShakesQUEER that looks at amplifying regional queer voices in the arts and re-inserting queer voices into the long canon of theatre they are often forgotten in.

As a writer and director, he has created; How’d You Lose It? (2015), The Lolly Bishop Experience (2016), Unwrapping Lolly (2016), Separation Anxieties (2017), The One Room of the House (2017) and The Divine Appeal of Medea (2018). His other directing credits include: ...k (2017), Lights, camera, Objectification! (2018), Assistant Director for Daniel Evans in 2018, and Wilde. Live (2020). Anthony’s acting credits include Hamlet: Psyched directed by Jo Loth, The Book of Everything directed by Caroline Dunphy, Dusk Til Dawn directed by Simon Woods, Cosi directed by Daniel Evans as well as many self-directed works.
