Adam Dakin
Biography
Raised in Sydney’s lower north shore, Adam began acting at the age of 13 through classes at the Australian Institute of Performing Arts. Here he grew his passion and experience by performing in a range of short films, self devised theatre eisteddfod competitions, stage plays, and a web series. After an intensive acting course at Chapman University in LA at the beginning of 2018, Adam returned to Sydney determined to elevate his craft and began taking classes at Young Actors Assembly where he wrote and performed in two short films Everyone Everything and Spores, which premiered at Chauvel Cinema for the Young Actors Awards.
Straight out of high school Adam was accepted into the prestigious BFA Acting course at QUT in 2020, gaining experience with a range of industry professionals. He starred in ‘Remote’ directed by Matt Scholten, Children of the Sun directed by Alicia Jones, Suitcase Shakespeare directed by Anne Pensalfini, Stupid F#*king Bird directed by Sanja Simic, and the premier of Joan Must Die written by Dan Evans and directed by Wesley Enoch. Throughout this time Adam also starred in Exit Ghost Production’s web series Greenlit, which premiered at the Leichhardt Palace Cinemas in Sydney.
After graduating at the end of 2023, Adam worked as Assistant Director and Swing for Art of Courage at PIP Theatre in collaboration with Brisbane Immersive, an Immersive theatre show about the war in Ukraine. Adam continues to strive for authentic storytelling through compelling creative works.

Reviews
Adam Dakin was charismatic as his school chum with over-active hormones, and Sam Webb frightening as the school bully.

“Led by Director Michelle Carey there’s a lot going on in this intense production. Toy Symphony explores bullying, substance abuse, death and grief. At times this play is uncomfortable to watch but it’s also a compelling look at creativity and human response.”
