Ada Lukin
Biography
Ada Lukin is a Meanjin based designer, writer, actor, and director. Her most notable works are 'Hello Stranger' and 'The Bluff', two original plays that found success on Brisbane stages in 2022, with 'Hello Stranger' taking home multiple awards from the Anywhere Theatre Festival. As a designer, Lukin likes to lean into the absurd, and use her background as a visual artist to step beyond realism and into whimsy. As a queer woman, Ada Lukin has a desire to share more queer stories on Brisbane stages, not only in her writing, but in her unique portrayal of well-loved characters. Once such character was 'Bowie' in the short film 'Adult Store', directed by Tahlia Miller. In future, she hopes to continue her work as a multifaceted creative and crazy cat lady, not only in the fabulous Brisbane theatre scene, but in stages across the world.
